Welcome

Man wearing a cap and sunglasses steering a boat with water and distant shoreline in the background.

A smiling middle-aged man with a beard wearing a white Nike cap, a light gray shirt, and a blue life jacket, giving a thumbs-up while sitting on a boat with a wake behind him on a clear, sunny day.

My name is John DuBois, licensed Captain with the USCG.

I discovered my passion for boating in early childhood, spending countless summers on the water with my grandfather—a cherished tradition that continues today through that original family boat, which is still lovingly preserved and cared for with great pride.

With extensive power boating experience spanning the beautiful lakes and rugged coastal waters of Maine, I have cultivated a deep and lasting connection to the region’s rich maritime heritage. This connection has grown through countless hours spent navigating and appreciating the unique character of Maine’s waterways.

My wife and First Mate, Tracey and I have spent the last four summers (April - October) living aboard Into the Mystic , a 1986 41’ Egg Harbor Sport Fishing boat. We love sharing our on-water experience with others as we cruise the islands of Casco and Penobscot Bays.
